All posts for the month January, 2016

La Plata County’s 2015 Real Estate statistics have been released! Strong growth in Bayfield in town and Durango in town property values, while there was a large slowdown for Durango Mountain Homes (Purgatory Ski Resort). Durango Condos and Town-homes are in high demand and their value is increasing considerably (6.5%) from 2014. Land sales had a massive growth in volume from 2014 in 2015 showing more construction is on the way. Overall, there is positive movement in home values and amount of properties sold. While Bayfield’s market has yet to recover from the market downturn of 2009 it is well on it’s way towards normality in pricing. Now would be a great time to invest in Bayfield’s Real Estate Market!

Home and Debt

Home and Debt

Pay off your home six years early with one simple strategy.
There’s a lot to consider when switching your mortgage payment. But the facts are pretty simple.

  • If you pay half of your regular mortgage payments every other week, you’ll have made 26 half-payments. That’s the equivalent of 13 full monthly payments.
  • Bi-weekly payments take advantage of an extra annual payment. Just one extra full payment can chop about six years off a 30-year mortgage!

Are you looking to purchase a home? My website TheGallantNetwork.com has access to all listings in Durango, give it a try!
